Job Description:
This position is responsible for the set-up, and operation of conventional optical grinding and polishing equipment. Knowledge of spherical measurement and testing methods using Interferometers, and optical hand tools. A lead contributor, on a department team, in the fabrication of IR, flats, prisms, plano and spherical optics and laser crsytals at the component level.

Job Qualifications:
Knowledge of IR materials, laser optics and VIS range optics. Experience in the set-up and operation of conventional optical, grinding, polishing and centering machines Perform machine maintenance and repairs as required. Knowledge of spherical metrology testing methods and equipment. Follow ISO procedures and methods. Work with other members of the team Technical degree or equivalent experience 10+ years experience in precision optical grinding and polishing, with experience at or near the Master Optician level Ability to maintain equipment according to schedules. Organized, with strong technical and computer skills. Good oral and written communication skills. As requested, complete special assignments for the Department Manager. US Citizenship is required.
